Home Minister Inaugurates “Waste to Wonder” Park in South Delhi

  • The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated first of its kind “Waste to Wonder” Park in New Delhi under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
  • The SDMC has made this park by creating replicas of the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’ using scrap of automobile parts and other metal waste like fans, rods etc.
  • In all 150 ton scrap/waste has been used to create the park in 180 days at the total cost of Rs 7.5 crore.
  • Equipped with solar panels, solar trees and a windmill, the park is self-sustainable.
  • The Minister termed the park as creation of ‘Wealth from waste’.

Wonders Installed in the Park includes:

  1. USA’s Statue of Liberty
  2. Brazil’s Christ the Reedmer
  3. Paris’s Eiffel Tower
  4. India’s Taj Mahal
  5. Rome’s Largest Amphitheatre Colosseum
  6. Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa
  7. Egypt’s Pyramid of Giza
