GST rate on all Electric Vehicles reduced from 12% to 5%
- Government has reduced the GST rate on Electric Vehicles(EVs) from 12% to 5%. The rate will be applicable from August 01, 2019.
- The GST on charger or charging stations for EVs has been reduced from 18% to 5%.
- It is pertinent to note the Government of India has set a target for 30% electric vehicles by 2030
