GST Council Bags Businessline Changemaker of the Year 2019 Award
- The second edition of BusinessLine Changemaker Awards was held in New Delhi on March 15, 2019.
- Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was the chief guest of the occasion and presented the awards to the winners.
- The GST Council was conferred with the flagship Changemaker of the Year Award 2019, which was received by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, on behalf of the Council.
- The awards were given in five categories. Winners of the awards include:
Social Transformation
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (provides quality education in Maoist and Naxal-affected hinterlands)
Digital Transformation
eNAM (enables farmers to directly sell their produce in the market)
Young Changemaker
Anju Verma (using education as a tool to improve the social mobility of underprivileged children)
Kush and Arjun Pandey (started the ScoutMe platform to scout for football talent)
Iconic ChangemakerÂ
Bezwada Wilson (founders of Safai Karmachari Andolan (SKA))
