Govt sets up committee of CMs to ‘transform Indian agriculture’; Head- Devendra Fadnavis

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted a high-powered committee of chief ministers for the transformation of agriculture and raising farmers’ income.

  • The 9 member committee is headed by Devendra Fadnavis, the CM of Maharashtra. The committee will suggest policy measures, attract investments and raise growth in food processing.

  • The remaining members of the committee are Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, (Union Agriculture, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Narendra Singh Tomar) and NITI Aayog member Ramesh Chand.
