Government plans to set up Indian Institute of Heritage at Noida

  • The Government of India is set to establish the Indian Institute of Heritage at Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
  • The Indian Institute of Heritage is being set up as deemed to be a university, and will be a standalone institution of its type in the country.
  • The world-class university will focus on conservation and research in India’s rich tangible heritage.
  • It will offer research, development, and dissemination of knowledge, excellence in the education of its students and activities associated with a heritage that contributes to the cultural, scientific and economic life of India. 
  • The university will provide Masters and Ph.D. courses in History of Arts, Conservation, Museology, Archival Studies, Archaeology, Preventive Conservation, Epigraphy and Numismatics, Manuscriptology as well as conservation training facilities to in-service employees and students of the institute.
