G C Murmu elected Chairman of ASOSAI for 2024-2027

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India G C Murmu has been elected as Chairman of the Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI).
Mr. Murmu was elected to the post on September 07, 2021, by the 56th governing board of ASOSAI during the 15th Assembly of ASOSAI.
He has been appointed for a period of three years from 2024-27. India will host the 16th Assembly of ASOSAI in 2024.
As the chairman, GC Murmu will be the chief executive of ASOSAI and represent ASOSAI in its dealings with national and international organisations.
Thailand is the current ASOSAI Chair for the 2021-2024 tenure.
The ASOSAI is one of the Regional Groups of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which aims to promote understanding and cooperation in the field of public audit among member institutions through the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The Assembly meets once in three years.
