FM Nirmala Sitharaman ranks 41 in 2020 World’s 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes, German Chancellor Angela Merkel Tops
- The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has once again entered the Forbes 2020 list of ‘The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’, for the second year in a row.
- Sitharaman has been ranked at 41st place in the 2020 edition of the annual ranking. In 2019, the 61-year-old Sitharaman was ranked at 34.
- The list has been topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel for the 10th year in a row.
- European Central Bank head Christine Lagarde is at second position the second year in a row while US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is at third spot, entering the list for the first time.
- The 2020 edition is 17th annual Forbes Power List and comprises women from 30 countries who were born across four generations.
