e-Shram Portal- How to Apply Online

Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched the e-SHRAM portal for 38 crore unorganised workers including construction workers, Migrant workers, Street vendors, Milkmen, Truck drivers, Fishermen, Agriculture workers and other similar workers.

Benefits of e-Shram Portal

• By registering on the e-Shram Portal, the workers will get the benefit of social security schemes being implemented by the Central and State Governments.
• The registered workers will be eligible for Rs 2.0 Lakh Accidental Insurance cover.
• The workers will get e-SHRAM card containing a 12-digit UAN and will be valid throughout the country.

Eligibility for Registration on e-Shram Portal

• The individual should be an unorganised worker (UW).
• Age should be between 16-59 years.
• Should not be a member of EPFO/ESIC or NPS (Govt. funded)
• Should not be an income tax payee.

Documents required for registration on the e-Shram portal

• Aadhar Number ( If a worker does not have a Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit the nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication
• Mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
• Savings Bank Account number with IFSC code

How to register on the e-Shram Portal?

An Unorganized worker may register himself/herself through visiting on eSHRAM portal or through assisted approach by visiting the nearest CSC’s.

Registration Charge of eShram Portal

There is no registration charge and registration on eSHRAM portal is free.

Any grievance can be addressed by dialing the helpdesk number or registering your grievance on eSHRAM Grievance portal (gms.eshram.gov.in)

Steps to Register on e-Shram Portal

• Visit the website for registration: https://register.eshram.gov.in/#/user/self

• Enter your mobile number linked with Aadhar and the Captcha. Then click on Send OTP Button.
• On the next screen enter the OTP received on the mobile phone in the OTP Box.
• Click Submit.
• On the new page enter your Aadhar Number, Check the box I agree to the terms & conditions for registration under eSHRAM Portal and click on submit button.
