‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ Portal launched by Haryana

  • The Haryana Government has launched a portal named ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ (www.fasalhry.in) for farmers to directly avail crop related benefits of state government schemes after self reporting their land and crop-related details.
  • The farmers who will register on the portal will get financial incentive of Rs 10 per acre or part thereof, subject to minimum of Rs 20 and maximum of Rs 50. This amount will be directly deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers.
  • Farmers can register through Common Service Centres (CSCs) or Atal Seva Kendras from July 5 till July 31. CSCs will get an incentive of Rs 5 per farmer entry.

UP Government Launches State-Wide Toll Free CM Helpline 1076

  • The state government of Uttar Pradesh has launched a toll-free Chief Minister helpline 1076 that will enable people from across the state to register their complaints as well as ensure a time-bound action on the complaints.
  • A 500-seater call centre has been established for the helpline and will work 24×7.

J&K Launches Operation Khumaar to Make 312 Panchayats Tobacco-free in Rajouri

  • A campaign called ‘Operation Khumaar’ has been launched by the district administration Rajouri, in Jammu & Kashmir, to make all the 312 panchayats free from tobacco and tobacco based products.
  • It is as step towards ensuring the successful implementation of COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) in the district. the Act was passed in 2003 and came into force in 2004.

STEMI Goa Project for Heart Patients to Cover Entire State by August 15

  • The STEMI (ST segment elevation myocardial infraction) Goa programme was launched in the state in December 2018 for the patients suffering heart attack in the state.
  • Till now, the ambitious health programme of the state government has covered almost all parts of Goa except five health centres which would be covered before August 15, 2019.
  • It is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, under which patients suffering heart attack are thrombolysed before bringing them to hospital for further treatment to save their life.
  • Thrombolysis is a treatment to dissolve dangerous clots in blood vessels, improve blood flow and prevent damage to tissues and organs.

USISPF to Honour Mastercard’s Banga and Wipro’s Premji with 2019 Excellence Awards

  • The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has named Mastercard CEO and President Ajay Banga and Wipro Chairman Azim Premji for its prestigious 2019 Global Excellence Awards.
  • The two business leaders will be honoured for their contribution in strengthening economic ties between the US and India.
  • They will receive the award at the Second Annual Leadership Summit of USISPF in Washington on July 11.

Switzerland Overtakes Singapore as World’s Top-ranked Destination for Expatriates: HSBC Report

  • Switzerland has surpassed Singapore to be placed as the world’s top-ranked destination for expatriates, according to the annual expat country ranking 2019 by HSBC Holdings.
  • Switzerland was ranked 8th in 2018.
  • Singapore, which has come down to second place, has held the top position for four straight years since 2015.
  • The 12 edition of the study titled ‘HSBC Expat’s Annual League Table of Best Places to Live and Work 2019′ included 33 nations. 

Yes Bank Acquires 9.47% Stake in Eveready by Invoking Pledged Shares

  • Private sector lender Yes Bank has acquired over 9.47 percent shares of battery maker Eveready Industries by invoking pledged shares.
  • The 68,80,149 shares has been acquired by the Yes Bank to resolve the issue of loan default by a group company, Mcleod Russel India Ltd (the borrower).
  • The B M Khaitan group is the owner of Eveready and Mcleod Russel.

Book on Former PM Chandra Shekhar to be Launched on July 8

  • The book titled “Chandra Shekhar: The Last Icon of Ideological Politics” authored by Harivansh Narayan Singh, the deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha, and research scholar Ravi Dutt Bajpai is set to be launched on July 8 to mark the death anniversary of the great leader.
  • The book will talk about the late politician’s journey from being born in a lower middle-class family to becoming “one of the tallest figures” in Indian politics.
  • He served as the prime minister for a small period of seven months from November 1990-June 1991.

Dutch Footballer Arjen Robben Announces Retirement at 35

  • The former Bayern Munich and Netherland forward, Arjen Robben, has announced his retirement from professional football.
  • The 35-year-old has played in over 500 matches for the club and his country in the entire career.
