COP25 climate summit to be held in Spain in December 2019

  • The 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP25 will be held in Madrid, Spain between 2–13 December 2019.
  • Earlier the COP25 was to be held in Chile. However, Chile abandoned plans to hold it due to deadly anti-government protests.
  • So now the COP25 will be held in Spain under the presidency of the Chilean government.

United States Secretary of the Treasury Mr. Steven Mnuchin visits RBI

  • The United States Secretary of the Treasury Mr. Steven Mnuchin visited Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai and held discussions with Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor and other senior officials of Reserve Bank of India.
  • Mr. Steven Mnuchin was accompanied by United States Ambassador to India, Mr. Kenneth Juster, Consul General of the United States in Mumbai Mr. David J. Ranz and other officials.
  • The discussions covered global and domestic macro-economic scenario in both countries and regulatory developments.

Amit Shah to inaugurate SCO Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search and Rescue (SCOJtEx) in New Delhi

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search and Rescue (SCOJtEx) in New Delhi on November 04, 2019.
  • The 4-day event will be attended by all eight SCO member countries – China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Headquarters of SCO- Beijing, China
  • The purpose of the event if to test the region’s preparedness to activate intergovernmental interaction for immediate response

India, Uzbekistan to conduct first-ever military exercise- DUSTLIK-2019

  • India and Uzbekistan will hold their first-ever joint field training exercise named ‘DUSTLIK-2019’. It will be held at Chirchiq area in Uzbekistan from November 04 to November 13, 2019.
  • The aim of the exercise is to promote positive relations between the Indian Army and the Army of Uzbekistan.

Rajinikanth To be Honored with Icon of Golden Jubilee award at 50th IFFI in Goa

  • Superstar Rajinikanth will be honored with the Icon of Golden Jubilee award at the Golden Jubilee edition of International Film Festival of India in Goa.
  • The festival will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
  • As per the announcement made by the Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar regarding the event, French actor Isabelle Huppert will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Foreign Artiste at IFFI 2019.

South Africa defeats England to win Rugby World Cup

  • South Africa defeated England 32-12 to win the Rugby World Cup title 2019.
  • This was the 3rd Rugby World Cup title win for South Africa. The final match was held in Nissan Stadium, Japan

  • Film producer Champak Jain passed away due to brain hemorrhage.
  • He was the producer of some famous films like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, and Josh, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
  • He was the owner of the music company Venus Records and Tapes.
