FICCI FLO launches mobile app for women’s wellness

  • FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO),  has launched a mobile application named “WOW” (Wellness of Women)  aimed at creating awareness on preventive healthcare.
  • FLO is the women’s wing of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • The mobile application “WOW” (Wellness of Women) is backed by city-based Apollo Hospitals Group that offers access to renowned doctors and provides health tips.

Andhra Pradesh launches ‘Mukhya Mantri-Yuva Nestham’ scheme

  • Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu launched ‘Mukhya Mantri-Yuva Nestham’, a scheme through which an allowance of Rs 1000 per month will be provided to unemployed youth in the state.
  • About 12 lakh youths in the age group of 22-35 years will get the benefit of the scheme.
  • The scheme will be extended to all those eligible even if there are more than one beneficiary in a family. 

Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank launches ‘Vikas Bonanza 456’

  • Karnataka Vikas Grameen Bank launched a new deposit scheme ‘Vikas Bonanza 456’, offering higher rate of interest.
  • Scheme is for 456 days with interest rate of 7.10% for general public and 7.60% for senior citizens.
  • The scheme also offers an annualised return of 7.35% for general public and 7.89% for senior citizens.
  •  Under the scheme, a minimum of Rs. 10,000 and maximum of Rs. 1 crore can be deposited.

DIPP starts programme for startups in energy sector- Integrate to Innovate

  • Invest India (national investment facilitation agency, funded by the DIPP) has joined hands with energy companies to offer its three-month programme for startups in the sector.
  • The programme – Integrate to Innovate – provides an opportunity for collaboration and conversation around valuable energy transitions, offering startups an opportunity to bring their ideas to life with the guidance and support from corporates.
  • The selected start-ups will receive a cash prize grant of up to Rs 5 lakh along with an opportunity to pilot their product with corporates.

Tech Mahindra, Government of Telangana collaborate to launch India’s first blockchain district

The Telangana State Information Technology, Electronics and Communication department (ITE&C) has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the global digital transformation provider Tech Mahindra to launch India’s first Blockchain District in the state of Telangana.

  • The present President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been re-elected as Zimbabwe’s president.

NITI Aayog launches Move Hack

  • NITI Aayog has launched Move Hack, a global mobility hackathon to crowdsource solutions aimed at the future of mobility in India.
  • Envisaged to be one of the largest hackathons globally, Move Hack is focused on 10 themes and structured over three legs: online, followed by Singapore leg, and the finals in New Delhi.
  • The hackathon is organized in partnership with Government of Singapore and is powered by Hacker Earth. PwC is the Knowledge Partner and NASSCOM is the Strategic Partner.

GI logo, tagline launched

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu launched a logo and tagline for Geographical Indications (GI) to increase awareness about intellectual property rights (IPRs) in the country.

The slogan for the GI tag is-‘Invaluable Treasures of Incredible India’. 

Apple Becomes First U.S. Company to Hit $1 Trillion Value

  • Apple on Thursday become America’s first publicly-traded company to hit the $1-trillion milestone when its stock briefly hit the $207.05 per share — the price required to achieve the feat.
  • The stock, however, fell below $207 later during the mid-day trading.
