Centre appoints three-member Committee to revisit criteria for determining economically weaker sections (EWS); Head – Former Finance Secretary Ajay Bhusan Pandey
- The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has formed a three-member committee to review the criteria for reservation for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category in terms of the provisions of the explanation to Article 15 of the Constitution.
- The members of the committee are former:
- Ajay Bhushan Pandey – former finance secretary, GOI (Chairman)
- Prof. V K Malhotra – Member secretary of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)
- Shri Sanjay Sanyal – Principal economic advisor to GOI (Member Convenor)
