Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrates 82nd Raising Day on 19 March 2021 

  • The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 82nd foundation anniversary with zeal and ceremonial fervour on 19 March 2021.
  • As a part of the occasion, a parade was organised at the CRPF Academy, Gurugram.
  • Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai took the salute at the parade and also presented the Gallantry medals and trophies for exceptional achievements in different categories to CRPF personnel.
  • The CRPF came into existence on July 27, 1939 as Crown Representative’s Police. It was renamed as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the enactment of the CRPF Act on December 28, 1949.
  • It was on March 19, 1950 that the then Home Minister, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel presented Presidential colours to the CRPF for its commendable services.
