Cabinet Approves Increase in Minimum Support Price of Kharif Crops for 2019-20 Season

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved to hike the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) of all Kharif crops for 2019-20 Season to boost farmers’ income,
The decision is in line with the principle of fixing the MSPs at a level of at least 1.5 times of the all India weighted average Cost of production as announced in the budget 2018-19.
MSP of Kharif crops has been increased by following rate:
1. Paddy: Rs 65 per quintal
2. Jowar: Rs 120 per quintal
3. Bajra: Rs 50 per quintal
4. Ragi: Rs 253 per quintal
5. Maize: Rs 60 per quintal
6. Tur (Arhar): Rs 125 per quintal
7. Moong: Rs 75 per quintal
8. Urad Pulses: Rs 100 per quintal
9. Groundnut: Rs 200 per quintal
10. Soyabean: Rs 311 per quintal
11. Sunflower seed: Rs 262 per quintal
12. Sesamum: Rs 236 per quintal
13. Nigerseed; Rs 63 per quintal
14. Cotton (medium staple): Rs 105 per quintal
15. Cotton (long staple): Rs 100 per quintal
