Bathukamma, the unique festival of flowers begins in Telangana

The famous Bathukamma floral festival celebration has begun in the state of Telangana and some parts of Andhra Pradesh.
The celebration of the nine days festival starts on the day of Mahalaya Amavasya (also known Pitru Amavasya) and culminates on Durgashtami which is two days before Dussehra.
Goddess Maha Gauri-‘Life Giver’ is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma.
To mark the festival, beautiful flower stack is made with different unique seasonal flowers, in seven concentric layers in the shape of temple gopuram.
