Bajrang Punia Claims Gold at 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships
- The 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships was held in Xi’an, China from April 23 to April 28, 2019.
- India won 16 medals (1-6-9) to be placed at eighth position in the medal table which was topped by Iran with 17 (11-0-6) medals.
- Bajrang Punia claimed his Asian Championship crown by winning gold medal for India in the 65-kg men’s freestyle category by defeating Kazakhstan’s Sayatbek Okassov 12-7.
