AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announces expansion of NEIAFMR in Arunachal Pradesh

  • The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced expansion of the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR) in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh by developing new infrastructure within the campus.
  • The initiative is line with the vision to develop the AYUSH sector in the state and the entire northeast region.
  • The additional infrastructure development at NEIAFMR will require an investment of around Rs 53.72 crores.
  • Under this, a new Ayurveda College with 30 seats and a new Ayurveda Hospital with 60 beds will be established.
  • For this, direct employment for 86 posts will be created
  • NEIAFMR is an autonomous National Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
