Assam tops in budgetary practices followed by states in Budget formulation: Transparency International
- The north eastern state of Assam has emerged as the top state in terms of best practices followed in budget formulation, as per a survey report by Transparency International.
- Assam was followed by Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
- Goa, Maharashtra and Punjab are the lowest ranking states in the report.
- The survey was based on four parameters namely
- public disclosure
- budgetary process
- post budget fiscal management
- efforts to make budget more transparent and citizen friendly.
