AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr D Nageshwar Reddy becomes first Indian to win Rudolf Schindler Award
- The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has honoured India’s Padma Bhushan awardee Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals, with the prestigious Rudolf V Schindler Award, for his work in the field of endoscopy.
- Dr Reddy is the first Indian medical practitioner to win this award.
- Rudolf V Schindler Award is named after Dr Schindler who is considered as “the father of gastroscopy. It is the highest category award in the Crystal Awards of ASGE.
- Dr D Nageshwar Reddy is the Chairman and founder of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), Hyderabad, the biggest gastroenterology hospital in the world.
- He received the Padma Shri award in 2002 and Padma Bhushan award in 2016
