TRAI sets deadline as Sept 30 for telecom companies for revised MNP norms

Telecom regulator Trai has extended, the deadline for telecom companies for implementation of revised Mobile Number Portability (MNP) norms to September 30, 2019. The earlier deadline was of June 13, 2019.
As per the revised norms, telecom operators are required to port the mobile numbers within 2 days. In the case of MNP from one circle to another circle, a time period of 4 days is allowed.
The maximum charge that mobile companies can charge for MNP is Rs 4. Earlier it was Rs 19.
