In recent banking exams, IBPS has been asking questions in the GA section directly by picking important single lines from PIB and Newspapers like economic times. So to prepare students for such questions we have started this series of One Liner Current Affairs from PIB and newspapers. This post contains current affairs in the form of one-liners from 1 February 2022 to 5 February 2022.

  1. Loans of 15 companies (including Jaypee Infra, VOVL and GTL) with aggregate loans amounting to ₹50,335 crore that commercial banks plan to sell to the newly-formed bad bank, National Asset Reconstruction Company of India (NARCL). NARCL and India Debt Resolution Company Ltd (IDRCL) act in a Principal-Agent relationship where NARCL is the Principal.

  2. Sebi bans Mehul Choksi from capital markets for 1 yr, slaps Rs 2.5-cr fine. He is the promoter and managing director of Gitanjali Gems.

  3. Bharti Airtel to acquire a 25% stake in Bengaluru-based tech startup, Lavelle Networks for an undisclosed sum.

  4. National Technical Advisory Group on immunisation (NTAGI) to review trials data of Covovax and Corbevax for their use in children, people.
    • NTAGI is the highest advisory body on immunization in India. Dr. N K Arora, Chairman is the chairman of COVID-19 working group for NTAGI.

  5. Neeraj Chopra has been selected as one of the six nominees for the 2022 Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award.
    • He is all-time third Indian athlete to be nominated for a Laureus Award after Vinesh Phogat in 2019 and cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who won the Laureus Sporting Moment Award 2000-2020.

  6. Amitabh Bachchan sells Gulmohar Park family home ‘Sopaan’ for ₹23 crore.

  7. Vedant Fashions Limited IPO starts (Manyavar)-  Issue Size- Rs. 3,149.19 Crore which is entirely an offer for sale (OFS).
    • The company is based in Kolkata. The company’s brands include (i) Manyavar, (ii) Mohey, (iii) Mebaz, (iv) Manthan, and (v) Twamev.

  8. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has extended the deadline for the implementation of the new broadcast sector tariff regulations —commonly known as NTO 2.0 (New Tariff Orders)— by three months, to June 1st, 2022.

  9. Ashneer Grover has no individual role in Unity SFB, says Centrum’s Jaspal Bindra
    • Resilient Innovations Private Ltd (BharatPe) and Centrum Financial Services Limited both have 50% stake in this Unity Small Finance Bank.
    • Jaspal Bindra is the Chairman of Centrum Financial Services.
    • Resilient Innovations Private Ltd is the parent company of BharatPe.
    • MD of BharatPe- Ashneer Grover (also the founder)
    • CEO of BharatPe- Suhail Sameer

  10. Jio invests $15 million in Pranav Mistry’s Two Platforms Inc for 25% stake.

  11. Chhattisgarh becomes 35th State/UT to implement One Nation One Ration Card- It is managed by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.

  12. Ministry of Culture administers a Scheme by the name of ‘Scheme for Pension and Medical Aid to artistes’
    • to improve financial and socio-economic status of artistes and scholars in the field of arts.
    • who are above 60 years and whose annual income is less than Rs.48000/-.

  13. Lakadong Turmeric from West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya with the highest curcumin content of 7-9% has been identified under The One District, One Product (ODOP) Initiative of Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
