India Ranks 140 in World Press Freedom Index 2019
- India has slipped 2 positions to be placed at 140 out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index 2019, released annually by Reporters Without Borders (RWB), a non-profit organisation based in Paris.
- The index has been topped by Norway for the third year running while Finland and Netherlands are second and third respectively.
- The bottom of the list has been occupied by Turkmenistan(180) and North Korea (179).
